Services for Adjunct Faculty

The special services described here are available to current TUC adjunct faculty.

Activation & Renewal of Library Privileges

To activate or renew your library privileges please contact the Library Director, Tamara Trujillo. Library access for TUC adjunct faculty needs to be renewed once per year.

Circulation

The loan periods for library materials checked out by TUC adjunct faculty are

Books and other physical volumes will be mailed free of charge to a remote TUC adjunct faculty member. Return of the item(s) to the Library will be at the borrower's expense.

Most library materials may be renewed twice.

There are no overdue or recall fines for TUC adjunct faculty. However, adjunct faculty members will be charged the replacement cost for any lost book or other library materials, and borrowing privileges may be suspended in certain circumstances.

Electronic Access Assistance

Faculty-Requested Instruction

Librarians are available to give library instruction sessions in your classes. Please contact one of the librarians in your curriculum area (below) to arrange for one of these sessions. For more information, see the Instruction page.

Interlibrary Loan

TUC adjunct faculty is provided 8 interlibrary loan (ILL) requests per academic year at no charge to the faculty member. Beyond 8 ILL requests, transactions are filled at a cost of $11 per article request and $15 per book or thesis/dissertation request. Reference/Research Assistance

Librarians are available to assist you with reference and research questions. Please contact one of the librarians in your curriculum area (see list above). For more information, see the Reference Services page.

Reserve

The Library purchases and places on reserve one copy of all required textbooks and one copy of all recommended textbooks on the class reading list. TUC adjunct faculty may place additional copies of required texts on reserve. In order to have these materials available to students for the start of the semester, the Library requests that class reading lists be submitted to the Library no later than 8 weeks before the start of the class. The course reserves catalog provides retrieval of reserve materials by course number/name and professor's name. For more information, see the Course Reserves page.
